'Everyone has been doing such a great job at school of getting the school garden beds ready for a new year of growing! Most exciting and important work! I'm so proud of them. Eagles and Kestrals have fulfilled and bettered their promise of digging over a bed per week and I think some of them could already get jobs as professional gardeners if they wanted! Lol! :-)
It's incredible what they've achieved. With Covid we couldn't have volunteers, but the older kids are now so skilled at digging that they've managed it themselves, I'm puffing out my chest with pride! SO WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO GROW! I'm putting in seed orders, taking requests. What will you grow at home too!? Now is the time to start thinking about it. You can send me your dream garden designs if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them as don't forget it's YOUR garden that YOU are all creating together ;-) It was so amazing all the delicious, beautiful bounty we all managed to grow last year. You all took things home to try, we stocked the village larder to help the community and families through covid, we even grew flowers to cheer people up. This year I think we need more flowers! Our potatoes have arrived for chitting. More plants will be on their way and we urgently need AS MUCH COMPOST & WELL ROTTED MANURE AS POSSIBLE!!!! Please help! Bring bags, leave by the gate, we'd be SO SO SO grateful! You all well know how much our poor sandy soil needs enrichment. Here's some lovely pics of your hard work & produce from last year to remind and inspire you. We've got lots of gardening to do when you're back and you can start at home too :-)
