ART+DESIGN

ART+DESIGN


The national curriculum for Art & Design aims for all pupils to:
  • Produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
  • Become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
  • evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
  • Learn about well-known artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms
Over the year each class will work across these topics using either a termly theme or a response theme to something they find of interest. For example a walk might inspire drawing from found objects which might lead to a learning pathway into sculpture BUT below gives a guide to the year and ensures our children experience and experiment with many different forms of expressing themselves and learning about artists who do that too.
So everyone experiences: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, 3D (clay, sculpture etc) and textiles across the year.
